                                Brahmam’s plans to tip balance

          Brahmam was reading a story when Mohini entered the shop in great style. Brahmam was excited to see her.  But she ignored him and went directly near Yedu. Both of them stared at each other and forgot everything.

Brahmam became serious on seeing this. He thought, “This lady is ignoring the owner and giving all attention to the servant. But I know how to spoil everything. If you catch her with touch, I will pull her with the balance.”

He got up and looked at Yedu. “You look after the shop. I will come back soon.”

Brahmam left the shop and went directly to Mohini’s house to see her father. Varada was shocked to see him. “How come you have left your shop and come here alone without my son-in-law-to-be?”

“He is in touch in the shop. I have come to change the direction of the balance. You have promised to give 2 lakhs. Is that amount fixed?”

Varada became serious. “I will not give a rupee more than 2 lakhs as dowry.  I will keep my Mohini in the market and get her married to the person who will take less money as dowry.”

Brahmam was happy to hear this. “Uncle, I am also a bachelor. I am also standing in the queue for a lady like Mohini. If you give me just 1 and a half lakhs, it is enough. I will get married to her.”

Varada was surprised. He thought, “This fellow is better. I can save 50 thousand.”

“Ok. Get ready. I will look for a good date and get her married to you.”

He phoned to Mohini. “Mohini, let go of his touch. Brahmam is going to marry you. He is the one who is going to give you the final touch.”

Meanwhile in Brahmam shop, Yedu and Mohini were hugging each other. Mohini was shocked to hear her father on the mobile. “How can you say that father?  I have taken first touch from Yedu. You have already agreed that he will be your son-in-law and choosen date for marriage.”

Varada became serious. “If that Yedu asked 2 lakhs are dowry, this fellow has agreed for just 1 and a half lakhs. I can save 50 thousand that is why Brahmam will be your husband.”

Mohini started crying. Yedu wiped her tears. “Don’t worry darling. I will agree for one lakh and turn the balance towards my side. Not only that, I will also marry you and give you the final touch.”
